💡 What is an H-1B visa?
It’s a work visa for professionals in specialty occupations that require a bachelor’s degree or higher.
📅 When is the H-1B lottery?
USCIS runs a lottery every year for applicants who meet the H-1B cap. This year, registration begins on March 7, 2025.
⏳ How long does an H-1B last?
✅ Initial approval: Up to 3 years
🔄 Extension: Up to 6 years (or longer if applying for a green card)
👨👩👧 Can my spouse or kids work?
H-4 dependents can’t work unless they qualify for an H-4 EAD under specific circumstances.
⚠️ What if I’m not selected in the lottery?
You may reapply next year or explore other visa options with your employer.
